# How to make it:

02 - In a large bowl, cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

04 - Add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
05 - Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
06 - Press your thumb or the back of a teaspoon into the center of each ball to form a well.
07 - If the cherry jam is very thick, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of water to loosen before filling the wells.
08 - Spoon approximately 1/2 teaspoon of cherry jam into each well.
09 - Sprinkle sliced almonds around the edges of the cookies if desired.
