09 - 0.25 teaspoon cream of tartar
10 - 0.25 teaspoon salt
11 - 0.5 cup granulated sugar
# How to make it:
01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9-inch round baking dish.
02 - In a large bowl, gently mix diced pears, cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, and cornstarch until fruit is well coated.
03 - Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
04 - Bake for 20 minutes until fruit softens and juices release. Remove from oven.
05 - Using an electric mixer, beat egg whites with cream of tartar and salt on medium speed until soft peaks form.
06 - Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating on high speed until stiff, glossy peaks form.
07 - Spoon or pipe the meringue over hot fruit, creating decorative peaks resembling snow.
08 - Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes or until meringue is lightly golden.
09 - Allow to cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
